Horse Purchasing Policy:
If a buyer is interested in moving forward with one of our horses, a 10% non-refundable deposit pulls the horse off the market for a week to set up a pre-purchase exam. After the exam, the buyer has 24 hours to determine if the buyer would like to move forward with the purchase or terminate the sale. If the buyer chooses to terminate the sale and releases the pre purchase exam and all records (X-rays, blood results, etc) then 50% of the deposit will be refunded. If the buyer opts to not go through with a pre-purchase exam, the deposit is 100% non-refundable.
Buyers are welcome to set up a PPE without putting down a deposit however the horse will continue to be advertised for sale and shown to other prospective buyers. By not putting down a deposit, it is not guaranteed that the horse will still be available.
Persuade aka ‘Percy’ 2021, 15.1 1/2h TB gelding.
Percy is a GEM, a unicorn in the making. This baby has just blown us away with his willingness to please and how quickly and correctly he answers the questions asked of him. Percy retired after 4 starts as he just wasn’t going to cut it as a racehorse. Percy is currently WTC and trotting over poles/small fences. Percy is the perfect first horse type for an ammie or a junior. Percy is a bit more ‘whoa’ than ‘go’ but isn’t dead to the leg. Percy is a lovely mover and once he figures out his body he is going to have a fantastic jump. Three lovely gaits. Perfect manners. This guy is going to make up to be something fantastic. Percy is perfect off property - he stands quietly in the trailer, he waits patiently until instructed to do something. No vices. No unsoundnesses. Percy is currently barefoot. RRP eligible 2024 and 2025.
Butters is just that, adorable. He has the best manners, a quiet yet inquisitive personality and really aims to please. Butters is learning how to put all the pieces together with his flatwork. His hind end has quite a bit of power, which in time will translate to a lovely jump. Butters goes best in a lifter type bit while he figures out his balance however he is not strong or hard mouthed. Butters thrives on positive reinforcement. He’s not overly spooky and never does anything naughty under saddle. He will get tense at times if he isn’t sure he understands the question being asked. He does try incredibly hard to figure out what is being asked of him. Butters retired off the track with two minor bowed tendons. He was given almost 2 years to rehab before being brought back into race training in 2022. He has some recorded works 8/2022 that make him RRP eligible. Since 2022, he has been enjoying downtime at the owners farm as their plans took a change of direction. He has been here since fall 2023 and has been in consistent work as of 12/1(RRP kick off date). No vices.
We are all ‘smitten for Smitty’. Smitty is a 2016, 16h TB gelding who made over $500k on the track. He retired due to a sesamoid fracture and was given ample rehab and turnout time. Xrays show that his fracture healed wonderfully, he is ready to get back to work and his career should be non-limiting. Smitty is getting back into shape and he’s truly proving to show just how much of an athlete he truly is. This guy enjoys having a job, he’s fancy, he’s brave and he’s insanely athletic. Smitty is slated to attend RRP 2024 however he can be available to a suitable show home.
Asking $8,500, negotiable and only to the best of homes. Smitty is extremely athletic and a bit quirky (in all good ways) however he requires a tactful, soft handed rider who doesn’t mind a forward, happy horse.
Buffy is a 2015, 16.1h Trakehner mare. Buffy is casually seeking a new partner as her current human is headed to college this fall. Buffy has dabbled in a bit of everything - hunters, jumpers, dressage and eventing. Her flat work is lovely, she’s educated, responsive and enjoys working. She does have her own motor so she’s not for a rider seeking a kick ride. Buffy is best suited in the hunters, jumpers or dressage arenas (she tolerated XC but didn’t have the love for it). She has a massive step, round jump and is brave to the fences. She enjoys a softer rider who can use their body to help regulate vs a rider who uses more hand. She is a big moving mare, so she does need an educated rider that won’t be intimidated by her movement. She’s straightforward undersaddle with zero funny business. She is a joy to have in the barn and has filled in for lessons on many occasions. Buffy most recently completed at WEC Ocala this winter in the .80-.90m jumpers with her current rider. No show prep. Easy to handle at the shows as she is extremely professional. Buffy does have changes but they are not confirmed. No vices. No unsoundnesses. Buffy does have mild shivers which requires a Vitamin E supplement (this has not affected her performance).
